It seems there is a question as to whether Nelson will be here or Rochester. Maybe I missed it but do we know what his status is?

Nelson signed a one year deal, so i would imagine he would play for the Big Club. Not sure just my thought.

That's what I thought too but have not seen anything to confirm or deny. I heard on GR they both were on the ice yesterday which I guess was an off day maybe? I wish radio had a DVR function so I can rewind something I hear to make sure I heard it right...

It's opposite to most original reports, but Friedman came out to say that players like Eichel, Mcdavid and Reinhart would be exempt for the expansion draft if it happened in 17-18.

“Players who have only earned two years of pro service are second-year pros and are exempt.”

Can anyone find any similar reports?

Makes sense .

After the 2 years the draft happens. They don't start the 3rd year till the season starts.

I really hope they don't expand the league. I don't think they need 32 teams. I don't even think there are 46 players just sitting around that are NHL quality to fill those teams or spots. So it will water down the product to an extent. I think 30 is good enough unless it's a market where it will succeed (ie. Quebec, but I think an existing team that isn't doing well could move to that market, even though I personally hate when teams move unless there is absolutely no support)

On the Ottawa owner. Do you really think he'll make the tough decisions? or do you think he's frustrating and talking tough? I guess we'll wait and see. Actions speak louder than disappointed NHL owners.

I got a$$ raped last summer for suggesting Reinhart would get 50 points if he played all 82 games with the sabres this year.

Digs and scud missiles from 40 directions for 4 months.

he is perhaps our best all around forward, and despite the lack of messages in my in box, I was right and they were wrong

they can't have 16 teams fighting for 8 spots in the east and 14 teams fighting for 8 spots in the west

We could use 2 teams that the Sabres can win against on any night.

Wasn't as frequent of a poster on here but I was admit this summer he would be here full time and exclaimed how he put in good work last season to be ready and was also told he should spend another year in the AHL..

But is he better than Girgensons? IDK the jury is still out....

I agree he's very good now and Will be a stud for years and years. But...

I think he will see time with ROR. You know how Disco Dan is. I think the official line will be 4th but he will get some minutes with the ROR, Kane line.
